Above Me

Bitter-sweet pitter-patter feet

Thudding thumping

On the floor at the door

Scathing screams and scattered chants

Beating bothered parent’s pants.

Pots and pans cling and clang.

Metal shoes tap and tap and tap and tap

While ceilings crinkle crackle and crease
