Destructively happy as famous
Nations die, dirty and lifeless.
The blade slammed down and she lay –
Hot water flowing –
The tragedy of a nation rising.
Red stained white as children
Throughout the world fled.
A reality shattered
As life-long bombs battered
Decaying dirt and muck.
It leaked into rusty water –
For those who died unfed, unwed –
While friends drank holy water
In memory of their lost Father.
Her glazed eyes reflected
Only statues falling,
Breaking; all hearts quaking
As people laughed and smiled.
